Some
vehicles will require an inspection prior to issuing a warranty. If
your vehicle requires an inspection, it will be indicated on the
quotation page you generate in our quote system (There will be a
link that says, 'Click here for inspection requirements.') Your
vehicle will qualify for our program upon receipt of a passed
vehicle inspection form.
Please
note that your vehicle must have at least 500 miles less than the
cut-off for the coverage you wish to purchase in order for us to
arrange an inspection. Warranty Direct does not offer coverage where
any alterations have been made to the vehicle or if you are using,
or have used, the vehicle in a manner not recommended by the
manufacturer. This will include, but not be limited to, the failure
of any custom or add-on part; any frame of suspension
modifications; lift kits; oversized/undersized tires or wheels;
trailer hitches; and or modifications to the engine, emissions or
exhaust systems.
The
inspection process is designed to protect you from having a claim
denied due to a pre-existing condition. You should be aware that a
high percentage of claims that are denied cite pre-existing
conditions as the reason. Of course, those companies do not inspect
your vehicle prior to issuing you coverage. An inspection protects
you from this.
One
of our customers, Mr. J. Shores (NY)
wrote,
"In looking at some of your competitors,
they did not require an inspection for an out of warranty vehicle
like you did. They tried selling this to me as a benefit. The fact
of the matter is, how can they cover a vehicle that has no factory
warranty without inspecting it? I imagine a lot of people fall for
this tactic and end up with claims being denied for pre-existing
conditions. You need to promote this factor and save people from
making decisions based on convenience."
The
inspection process is simple and hassle free. We have contracted
with a national inspection company (Magoo's Automotive Consultants,
Inc.) and negotiated a special rate for you. Magoo's is one of the
largest, independent inspection companies in the
US and has
an impeccable customer service as measured by the Better Business Bureau.
We handle
all the paperwork. Contact us with some basic information and we
will arrange to have a mobile inspector come to your home, place of
business or any location that is convenient for you. The fee is only
$99 (in most instances) and is payable to the inspection
company via MasterCard or Visa. The inspection fee is not
refundable.
In most
instances, the inspection fee will be deducted from the cost of your
extended warranty purchase. (Sorry, the inspection fee deduction is
not available to Florida
residents by law)
When your
vehicle passes inspection, coverage must be purchased within 3 days
or 100 miles after notification of the inspection results.
Should
the vehicle not pass the inspection, we may authorize you to make
repairs. If we authorize repairs, you may elect to have repairs done
at the repair facility of your choice. We reserve the right to
reject any vehicle not passing an inspection.
1.
What should I expect once the inspector arrives?
The
inspector will check to make sure the vehicle is in proper
operating order and that no system is inoperable. A visual
inspection under the hood and under the vehicle is done to
check for leaks or other potential problems. Digital pictures
supporting an inspector's opinions will be taken. The vehicle
will also undergo a short test drive.
Upon
completion, the inspector will submit a written report and
digital pictures to Warranty Direct. The report is reviewed by
our National Claims Manager who determines if the vehicle
passed or if repairs may be needed.
2.
I'm planning on buying a vehicle. Will Warranty Direct provide
a pre-purchase inspection? We
do not provide pre-purchase inspections. We would recommend
you contact Magoo's directly to arrange one. We will, of
course, accept their inspection in lieu of ours. We may also
accept other inspection reports you may have. Please call for
details.

3.
I already had my vehicle inspected before I bought it.
Will you accept it? We
will consider inspection reports done by a franchised
automobile dealer or other national inspection company
in lieu of ours. Please contact us for
details.
